Trembling Earth Recreation Complex

Trembling Earth Recreation Complex

The crown jewel of the Ware County Recreation Department, the 123-acre facility features three complexes within walking distance of each other, and surrounded by ample parking. Building on the Trembling Earth Sports Complex began in the early 2000’s and has been completed in stages as funds became available. Your team is sure to appreciate the 12 tournament quality fields for play: the youth baseball complex with its six fields; the adult softball complex, with four fields; one full-sized football field; and one multi-purpose soccer field.

in 90 years

Young families have fun where the once famous ‘Shoeless Joe Jackson’ played here in Waycross, in 1925 when he played for the Waycross Coastliners Team.

Joe wouldn’t recognize the place with all our modern features that makes the Trembling Earth Recreation Complex one of the finest facilities in Georgia.

sO complex WCPortable fencing allows these fields to be re-sized for younger players who aren’t ready “to go the full distance” yet. Practice fields in each complex help teammates work on their moves and strategies. For those not old enough to join the sports teams, the children’s playground serves as a healthy alternative to organized play, or take a power-walk around the ½-mile track that encircles a 10-acre pond.

O tembling hagoodThe baseball/softball arenas’ covered dugouts have communication systems wired from the field to the score tower; each field also has its own state-of-the-art scoreboard with timers and a public-address system. Cheering for the home team during the big game can work up an appetite, so head down to the full-line concession stands and the eating area, where you’ll also find ADA-compliant restrooms that ensure everyone’s comfort. At the end of the day, there’s also a large variety of locally-owned and franchised restaurants, hotels and shops.

The Trembling Earth Recreation Complex continues to expand to meet our thriving community’s needs for recreation and the solid relationships that result from it. Recent developments have included a gymnasium building which also has conference rooms, classrooms and the Ware County Recreation Department’s office.
